Lamb and wool prices are at record highs. If you want to learn about sheep production, or simply to make contact with other producers in SC, plan to join us for the SC Sheep Industries Association meeting on Sunday, December 4th from 3:00 pm. to 5:00 pm. at the Anderson Country Extension Office, 313 So. Towers St., Anderson, SC 29624.

 This is the annual fall planning meeting, but will also include an informative session on small ruminant hoof health presented by Dr. Patty Scharko, Clemson Livestock-Poultry Health Program Field/Extension Veterinarian. Hoof rot and hoof scald are conditions that sheep producers encounter and management/prevention of these diseases is important to many Southeast producers.

 There will be special opportunities for members to take on officer duties for the 2012 year and contribute to keeping the SCSIA creative and viable. This organization currently has 42 members and the potential for much growth. Please plan to attend this meeting and keep our state network of sheep producers intact. All interested in sheep are welcome, youth too!
