There are many opportunities for South Carolina youth to be involved in
the sheep industry. One of the greatest ways to introduce young people
to sheep is through showing. Youth have the opportunity to raise a lamb
from weaning to market weight or breeding age. The lambs can then be
sold for meat or breeding purposes. South Carolina currently has two
active 4-H clubs that are devoted to youth and sheep. Please keep
checking back as we update events, happenings and pictures.

However you don’t have to own a lamb to become involved in the
South Carolina Youth Sheep Program. If you are a talented
weaver, seamstress, or crafter you may enjoy the Make It With
Wool contest.
